Great Success for the 3rd A Un Tono Tuba and Euphonium Festival in Santa Magdalena de Polpís
Throughout the weekend, more than 45 participants and over 55 tuba and euphonium players came together to enjoy an intensive, varied programme designed for all levels. The festival offered more than 10 masterclasses, training activities, lessons, opportunities for musical exchange, and a major instrument exhibition area where students, teachers and visitors could discover the latest developments in the sector up close.
One of the main highlights of this edition was the seminar given by Elite Brass, focused on the maintenance and care of tubas and euphoniums. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about products, tips and practical solutions to extend the lifespan of their instruments and ensure they perform properly in day-to-day use.
The exhibition brought together more than 45 models of tubas and euphoniums, becoming a true showcase for performers, students and professionals. Among the brands present, new products from Wessex, Eastman and ZO stood out, along with the presentation of the new brand VENTO, which was very well received by both participants and teachers.
VENTO was created with a very clear purpose: to bring together three key pillars that are not always easy to find in a beginner instrument. The brand is committed to offering quality at an accessible price, personalised after-sales service, and the availability of suitable spare parts to ensure correct, long-lasting use of the instrument.
On the performance side, one of the standout moments of the festival was the teachers’ concert, which featured an exquisite repertoire and included the Spanish premiere of The Quintessencia, a work by tuba player, composer and educator Eduardo Nogueroles. The piece provided a particularly meaningful moment in an edition marked by artistic quality and shared enthusiasm.
The festival concluded with one of the most eagerly awaited moments: the raffle of a VENTO C tuba, which will be heading to Catadau, Valencia, followed by a spectacular final concert performed by a band made up of all the participating teachers and students. The ensemble was conducted by Luis Gimeno and Miguel Moreno, providing the perfect finishing touch to a weekend full of music, learning and togetherness.
