Denis Wick euphonium mouthpiece Ultra SM6U Silver-plated

A Steven Mead Ultra mouthpiece with precise response and excellent stability

The Denis Wick Ultra SM6U Silver-Plated Euphonium Mouthpiece is part of the range developed with renowned euphonium player Steven Mead. It is designed for musicians seeking a stable mouthpiece with clear articulation and controlled response throughout the instrument’s register.

Its heavy outer profile provides a firm playing feel and helps maintain a centred sound, particularly at stronger dynamic levels. This makes the SM6U suitable for demanding solo repertoire, brass bands, wind bands and other settings where clarity and consistency are important.

The slightly more rounded cup supports a full and expressive tone, while the sharper inner edge of the rim helps define the start of each note. This combination offers precise articulation without sacrificing the comfort required for long rehearsals and performances.

A 25.40 mm inner diameter provides balanced support for the embouchure. The 6.26 mm rim and 6.66 mm bore complete a design intended to combine flexibility, stability and efficient airflow.

The V-type backbore is suited to the euphonium’s conical design and promotes smooth airflow and an even response. This model has a narrow shank and a silver-plated finish, providing a comfortable, durable surface that is straightforward to maintain.
