Denis Wick euphonium/trombone mouthpiece 6AL Silver-plated

A balanced mouthpiece for a full tone and a more comfortable upper register

The Denis Wick 6AL Silver-Plated Euphonium and Trombone Mouthpiece is designed for musicians seeking a balanced combination of tonal breadth, control and greater comfort in the upper register. Its proportions allow the player to produce a full sound without using an excessively large cup.

The 25.40 mm cup diameter provides enough space to develop a broad and stable tone. This measurement supports a full sound throughout the middle and lower registers while maintaining definition and control as the player moves into the higher range.

Denis Wick euphonium mouthpieces are based on the successful design principles used in the company’s trombone mouthpieces, with specific refinements to the throat and backbore. These adjustments are intended to provide an even response and smooth transitions between registers.

The 6AL model has a large shank and is designed for instruments with a compatible large-shank receiver. Its response supports controlled articulation and a wide dynamic range, making it suitable for expressive playing as well as stronger ensemble passages.

The silver-plated finish provides a familiar and comfortable playing surface. With its combination of a full tonal character and improved upper-register response, the Denis Wick 6AL is a practical choice for players who want flexibility without sacrificing body and depth of sound.

Benefits of the Denis Wick 6AL Silver-Plated Mouthpiece

The 25.40 mm cup provides a broad tone without losing excessive definition. This makes the mouthpiece suitable for wind bands, brass ensembles and solo repertoire where the instrument needs both presence and clarity.

A key benefit of the Denis Wick 6AL is its upper-register response. Its design helps the player maintain greater comfort and control in this area while preserving a full-bodied sound across the rest of the range.

The large shank makes it suitable for euphoniums and trombones with a compatible receiver. The receiver size should always be checked before purchase to ensure the correct fit.
